“In a time of drastic change, it is the learners who inherit the future”

Eric Hoffer, an American writer on social and political philosophy (who moonlighted as a thinker while he held down a day job as a dockworker.)

The quote was put up during a talk by Kirk McDonald, pictured, president of the media agency PubMatic. He also said audiences want MORE content, and they want to SHARE it.

He is also very excited by the new era of programmatic ad sales, which allows real-time bidding for publishers’ available ad positions without the human error. Check out PubMatic’s blog for a range of their executives’ views on these issues.
One thing I’ll say, while publishers may be hurting, it seems like the advertising spend is still out there – so how to make them stick with newspapers? The million dollar question…
