“World of Warcraft is the best way to teach kids…”

“…It is so much more efficient to teach kids in a virtual world than it is in the real world.”

images-3A curveball quote from Garratt Gallagher, chief executive of Romotive, whose day job is developing a product that turns your iPhone into a robot.

As this PandoDaily video shows, Romo allows you to put a phone into a small robot vehicle and operate it remotely using another phone. Apart from capabilities such as pizza or flower deliveries (see below) or bomb detection/defusing, it could arguably used in surveillance or the gathering of information. Journalists, spies, voyeurs, I’m talking you. A cheap, land-based robot that gives you an eye in places you may not be ordinarily allowed to go. Who needs to wait for expensive, attention-grabbing drones?
